It was good but Roth's style of writing was weak and there were some discrepancies. At some points she would forget to inform the readers of the setting. For example, she would write that Four looked at a hallway- but then we weren't told that the characters were moving there, just all of a sudden they were in that location. It threw me off balance and i got annoyed by it.
I also found her style of using the first person narrative slightly odd. She used present tense, which i couldn't actually get used to, but that may just be my personal preference rather than something odd.
Summing up other reasons for the lower score:
- Fairly predictable
- Not enough detail at times
- Didn't always flow
- Bad execution of some key events
As i don't read from the Dystopian genre very often, i'm not really one to comment on originality, but even with my little knowledge of the genre its obvious that a lot of aspects weren't very original.
