Always Carry a Book!

Okay. So.

This book is clever, and interesting and the characters are well written. Gaiman and Pratchett are no doubt great writers.

BUT

Though i am enjoying it, i am decidedly thoroughly against the endless mini stories of all the various characters. I am a little more than halfway through the book and we're still meeting new characters and getting new story lines! I feel attached to one character and then the character disappears - and doesn't come back. At least, not yet, and by now i don't even remember enough to care about them any more.

I keep waiting for the new characters to reveal their relevance to the story but i'm starting to believe they're just being introduced for the sake of it. I feel less encouraged to continue reading when it feels like i'm reading a new story every time i end a chapter.

I'm not sure if i will ever finish this book. I've already read at least 10 other books since i started Good Omens. Not a very good omen at all.

For the moment however, my rating is 3/5
