Always Carry a Book!

I am a fantasy fan first and foremost! I will, however, read anything interesting as long as its not crime fiction. I never go anywhere without a book/ebook!

Magician (The Riftwar Saga #1-2) - Raymond E. Feist Little more than halfway through now, so far its quite good. Took a turn in a different direction to what i expected which was good as I was concerned it would be too predictable (and too similar to another popular epic fantasy).
A couple things are not so good, one being the character developments. Also, the relationships between the characters are not quite believable and feel rushed.

I understand why the book was originally two books! Much too long! Thankfully it's a good enough read.

FINAL EDIT:

I enjoyed reading this book throughout, it was very rarely uninteresting and was mostly well written.

I had issues with some aspects such as with the overdone ending and the author's tendency to push female characters out of the limelight (not to mention the awful roles drawn for them in the story - basically just 'consorts' to male characters). Also, as i mentioned before, i think that there could have been more depth to the main characters and even to the worlds being built. There was little on Kingdom culture, or on the good traits of Tsurani culture.

I find it difficult to rate Magician. I want to give it 4 stars, but i think its flaws make it undeserving.

3.5 stars.
